It was a sold out crowd for Valentine's Day
The 601 Vigilance Committee of Virginia City put together an amazing Valentine's Day event, and Let 'em Run benefited greatly! It was a packed house of 220 guests that came to enjoy the evening. The decorations included champagne and roses on every table, balloons and streamers to make the evening festive, and hearts everywhere! Dinner was provided by the Cider Factory - smoked tri-tip, roasted chicken, baby potatoes, green beans, green and caesar salads, garlic bread and chocolate mousse. But the entertainment is what people came for - Lacy J. Dalton and Dale Poune along with David John and Doc Quam of the Comstock Cowboys. The format was like the old guitar pulls you find in Nashville where a couple of singer/songwriters play songs they wrote and tell the story behind each one. Lacy and David played beautifully off each other, and it made for a magical evening. Proceeds from the evening, including the bar and a silent auction, went to benefit Let 'em Run and the Comstock Cemetery Foundation, and were matched by the 601's - and when all was tallied up, each organization received a $4000 donation. It was a magical night indeed!
